Our Impact
Since its inception, Helping Heroes has raised tens of thousands of dollars to support our Heroes. These funds have in turn been invested in various initiatives to help single mother business owners in developing nations. Our key initiatives have included:
Sewing Schools – Helping Heroes through local counterparts, operates sewing schools where single mothers are taught how to sew and given equipment to establish seamstress businesses. For as little as $600 USD per year for us to put a single mother through seamstress education program, pay for their meals during the semester, and equip them with sewing machines to use after graduation
Micro Lending – Hundreds of loans to single mother business operators in the agricultural, food and textile industries. Kiva
Women for Women – Women for Women International supports women in war-torn regions with financial and emotional aid, job-skills training, rights education and small business assistance so they can rebuild their lives. Helping Heroes believes in the power of supporting these inspirational leaders to help make the world a better place.
Finca.org – a non-profit organization which focuses on alleviating poverty through lasting solutions that help people build assets, create jobs and raise their standard of living. FINCA has sought to break the cycle of poverty in the world’s most desperate communities by providing small loans, savings programs, insurance protection and other financial services to the working poor.
